My Family

We spent a few days at the KOA in Barrie.  This place is extremely kid friendly with lots of activities to keep them occupied.  Very clean, well maintained and staff are very friendly and accomodating.  We had opportunity to share our music with the campers.  We highly recommend this place.

We spent a few days camping at my brother’s place in Acton, Ontario.  He spends alot of time in his beautiful garden.

Meet Storm and Ice.  They have full reign over the garden.  They are Cannan Desert dogs that were rescued from Qatar.  Because of their origin, they have webbed feet and ice blue eyes which helped them to live in conditions of sand and intense heat.

Meet my handsome nephew Giacomo.  The family got together to celebrate his 13th birthday.

Meet my siblings Richard and Christine.  I was robbed in the height department!

We spent a night at Carol’s Campground in Sudbury, Ontario.  Most campgrounds have a designated 7 to 8 hour quiet time…here it is 13 hours long.  This place is very clean, well maintained and is the perfect site if you have a boat or love to fish.  We recommend it.

We continued to head South East.  We enjoyed seeing many inukshuk and were quite amazed by some of their locations.

We left Wawa and continued to head East.  The scenery was so beautiful and the water looked just like glass.

20170527_143423

That little ball at the end of the road is a cloud…so cool.

We are in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario visiting with family.

Ephesians 4:2  Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

Just Passing Through

We left Manitoba and continued to travel East.  Things were starting to look much greener.

20170524_200704

These are inuksuks.  They can be seen everywhere on top of rock along the highways.

We spent a night in Kenora at the Anicinabe RV Park and campground.  This place is very clean and well maintained.  The view is absolutely spectacular.  We recommend it.

20170524_223545

Meet Sylvie and Kristel.  These brave ladies are on a roadtrip from Quebec to British Columbia sleeping in their overloaded small car.  We had opportunity to lend them a few things for a more comfortable sleep.  Happy trails ladies.

20170526_092802

We spent a night at the Flying J truck stop in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

20170525_154700

We spent last night at the Wawa RV Resort and Campground in Wawa, Ontario.  This place is very clean, well maintained with all the amenities.  We recommend this place.   Statues of geese can be found throughout this small town.

So Long Saskatchewan

20170523_110111

We spent the night at the Comfort Plus Campground in White City, Saskatchewan. This campground is clean and well maintained however, the water and the washrooms have a very vulgar smell.  Camp here at your own risk.

20170522_222857

Meet Mitch.  Mitch is a good friend from back home.  We met up with him in Regina and had a great time full of laughter.  Nice to see a face from home.

20170523_152150

Meet Mark.  We met Mark shortly after crossing into Manitoba.  Moncton, New Brunswick is home for him.  Currently he is homeless.  We were able to bless him with a few needed items.  Mark was very excited to see a bible amongst the items. He wanted everyone involved to know that the items received were very much appreciated.

20170523_171553

We are spending the night at the Meadowlark Campground in Brandon, Manitoba. This campground is also a mobile community.  It is very clean and the staff very accomodating.  We recommend this place.

Tomorrow we continue east.

Best Kept Secret

20170518_205415

Next stop was Watrous, Saskatchewan.  This is home to Manitou Beach.  This is a very small town with a whole lot of character.  We stayed at the Manitou and district regional park and campground. This park is clean and well maintained in a beautiful setting.  We recommend this place.

This body of water is full of minerals said to have many healing properties.  I tried putting my feet in but the water was freezing.

20170519_164158

The town’s highlight is this mineral pool.  They refer to it as Canada’s dead sea.  The water is so full of minerals that it is impossible to sink.  You can stand straight up in the 9 foot section and you will just bob there.  What an experience.

Sculptures from local artists can be seen throughout the town.

20170518_205211

I found this artist’s pieces to be fascinating.  They are made out of recycled items but one of them is rebar…ever tried to bend rebar!

20170520_225342

We went for a night out to Danceland.  Danceland is a very famous ballroom that has been around for almost 100 years.  It has a 5000 square foot dancefloor that is built on horsehair.  The live band “Phoenix” was great.  We danced the night away and had a fantastic time.

Meet Doris.  This amazing woman is so full of fun.  She is known as the hat lady.  She gifted me with this fabulous hat.

These young people know how to have a good time.  When we asked what the special occasion they were dressed up for was,  they told us…”it’s Saturday night!”

20170521_194519

Meet Steve, Marilyn, Sarah and Pastor Doug.  We met these wonderful people at the Baptist church in Watrous.  An incredible part of our journey has been all the amazing people we have met.  We have thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

We left Watrous this morning and headed Southeast.  We are spending the night in White City, Saskatchewan.  We will continue heading East tomorrow.

20170518_200206

Have you heard the one about the guy who thought it was ok to overload his truck with branches and drive through town.  Well…one of those branches struck the windshield of someone passing by and cracked it.  Guess who needs a new windshield!

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy Name,
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those
who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
for ever and ever.  AMEN

A Taste Of Moose Jaw

20170517_103158

We spent a few days at the Prairie Oasis campground in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. This campground provides privacy barriers between campsites…a nice addition.  It is clean and well maintained.  We recommend this place.

20170515_201542

This town has alot of charm.  Between it’s old buildings and it’s many murals there is plenty to see.  The locals here are extremely friendly.  We took a tour of the underground tunnels where Chinese slaves worked.  These tunnels were also used by Al Capone for his bootlegging…no cameras were allowed.

20170516_160405

The local library has a stunning lobby all done in marble with stained glass ceiling. Yes…the horse was in the building.

Check out this manual overhead crane we found in an old power building.

20170517_173916

Found this hidden area full of beautiful grafiti.  It is a popular place for getting grad photos taken.

20170517_150957

Meet Melissa, Rachel and Danny.  They all work at the Riverside Mission.   This place provides meals for those with low income who struggle to get through the month financially.  There is alot of love in this place for anyone who walks through their door.  We were able to bless them with 13 bags of items for their guests.

20170516_161813

Today’s scripture was found on the wall of the Riverside Mission.
