Death Valley

Meet Kerry, Mario and Rachell.  These wonderful people work at My Maintenance Man in Henderson, Nevada.  Tuesday morning as we left Las Vegas, we discovered that the brake lights were not working on the trailer.  We were turned away by Camping World and another garage who would not take the time to see what the problem might be.  Then we found these amazing people.  Although they were very busy…they took the time to help us. We were very grateful to have found them.

We headed West.

We crossed over into California.  Unfortunately, there was no welcome sign.

We went to Death Valley National Park.  We travelled from 250 feet below sea level to up to over 7000 feet above sea level.  There were some absolutely spectacular moments where we were driving on the edge of a cliff but I was too busy holding on for dear life to take pictures.  Any white you see close to the ground is salt.  Higher levels are snow.

Gold, borax and talc are minerals that have been found in this area.  This equipment was used in mining borax.

We dry camped in Death Valley.  In the morning a roadrunner came right up to Tat and checked out our camp site.
