Yesterday we left San Antonio and headed for Del Rio, Texas.

The terrain during the drive was very dry and open.  We saw field after field of cows and goats.

These trees are  black and dead looking but they have these balls of vibrant green growing on them.  Quite spectacular!

We are staying at the Lonesome Dove RV Park.  Yes…it was named after the tv series.

Today we took a trip into Ciudad Acuna, Mexico.  This is not a tourist area.  Poverty is very visible here and so is desparation.  We filled our bag with packs of gum and handed them out to every child we saw.  This area is also very poluted.

We took a border taxi into Mexico but walked over the bridge and back into Texas. One of the most heartbreaking moments today was right before we crossed back over. There was a young couple with a small baby trying to sell nuts to people just before crossing back into the USA.  How grateful we are to have been born into our country.

1 Thessalonians 5:18  Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
