Where’s Waldo?

Sunday morning we attended a service at the Christ The King Church in Charlotte, NC. We met some wonderful people who helped give us direction to where we might find some homeless people.  What a great service.

This is the view I wake up to every morning.  Last night we were serenaded by some owls and an unidentified animal.

This morning we awoke to find this bird stuck in between the screen of our tent.  Once Tat released him he stuck around in the inside of our tent for a while.

Meet Eric.  Following the imprisonment of his girlfriend and the death of his mother, Eric found himself living on the streets.  He has been homeless for about a year. Currently he lives under a bridge in a tent.  Eric was the next recipient of a backpack.

Homelessness takes on many forms.  There are working homeless.  These are people who work full time, bring in too much income to receive assistance but not enough to sustain living expenses.  This is the situation for this beautiful family.  We met them in the campground where we were staying.  God placed them right beside the bath house so we wouldn’t miss them.  Meet Tim, Ashley and their adorable children Caiden, Timmy and Mary.  Currently they are living in a tent but hoping to upgrade to a camper.  We feel blessed to be able to share time, prayer and a few bags with these nice people.

It is still early in our trip and we see God  presenting people to us all the time.

Proverbs 21:13  Whoever closes his ear to the cry of the poor will himself call out and not be answered
